A Wrinkle in Time

In chapter five, Charles Wallace tried to explain what a tesseract is to Meg. He begins by describing different dimensions. These ideas are related to geometry. Check out the links below to explore tesseracts and the fourth dimension.

Later in chapter five, Mrs Whatsit, Mrs Which, and Mrs Who tesser the children onto a 2-dimensional planet. What would a 2-D planet look like? What would exist and not exist in such a place? Another book about 2-D life is Flatland.

Discussions of dimension eventually lead to the idea of fractal dimension. Check out my fractal webpages. Another related area is Non-Euclidean geometry.
