Implications

For more than 2000 years, Euclidean geometry was considered TRUTH. Now we know that scientific truth is relative, that we make assumptions and look for consistent logic in describing mathematical and scientific systems.

Non-Euclidean geometries help us to look "outside the box", and consider other possibilities. For instance, Newtonian physics was also considered TRUTH until we could see into the atom. The discovery of quantum physics opened our eyes to other ways of looking at and explaining our universe. Einstein's theory of relativity also changed our point of view.
